Internet banking surges in southeast Asia
Online banking sites in Southeast Asia saw a sharp rise in users last year, as institutions grew more Internet-savvy and customers got used to paying their bills on the web, research showed on Wednesday.

Malaysia banking sector profits to grow 15pc
Banking sector earnings is expected to grow at 15 per cent while return on equity (ROE) is anticpated at 16 per cent this year, says HwangDBS Vickers Research. "We believe loans growth will continue to support net interest income growth amid competitive net interest margin while non-interest income should gear up on capital market activities," it said in a note today.
